It just doesn’t occur to her (or 60k tumblr users) that millions of people go to work every day in uniforms or wearing and bearing equipment a thousand times more uncomfortable than high heels.

I can’t think of a single uniform that would be more uncomfortable than heels. Other than uniforms that include heels. The only equipment that would be similar are equipment that can be put down and are not strapped to you 24/7.

Uniforms are not meant to be uncomfortable (aside from uniforms meant to look physically appealing, which is… Something that women deal with more than men). Most labor-intensive jobs such as being a soldier or a firemen include a T-shirt, a button-up jacket, loose pants, and boots. None of that is uncomfortable. They are specifically made so you can continue doing what you need to do.

Other jobs would be… What? A button-up, a jacket, trousers, dress shoes and a tie? Still not as uncomfortable as heels.

Some other chucklefuck was mumbling about his hard hat and overalls and boots, but those aren’t uncomfortable, either.

Though, yeah, certain ‘uniforms’ CAN be more uncomfortable than heels. Though the funny thing about that is, they usually include heels.

Steel toed boots- I’ve worn these in a few jobs and they are not breathable. Some of them have weighed about 5 pounds. While not heavy, I was expected to run in them, climb ladders in them, jump in them, and do everything like normal. I’ll take walking in heels over trucking in boots anyday.

The fact that you think soldiers wear comfortable gear just goes to show how easy a life you’ve lived. The fact anyone can think a flack jacket with sappy plates is comfortable just shows thus who’ve never struggled should be laughed at.

You keep blabbering but let’s be real here. Those things are about weight. Weighted for protection. You’re slightly uncomfortable because it’s a bit heavy. That’s what you’re complaining about.

Whereas the kind of stuff that I’m talking about damages the body. It’s discomfort in that it literally fucks up your body. Models go through this the worst and I’m using them as an example, because while certain sniveling old men in this site like blabbering about ‘real work,’ models basically have to abuse their bodies to keep their jobs, especially as high fashion models or models known for their sexuality like Victoria Secret models.

This is why when you see close-ups of the feet of models, they look like this:

They end up having their circulation cut off, blisters form, and their feet get bruised and actually injured. This does not happen when you wear steel-toed boots or flak jackets. Neither of those will actually damage your body. They are made for safety and are just heavy.

You guys get so fucking upset at the idea that a woman who looks pretty isn’t actually pampered and treated like a goddess. God fucking forbid a woman actually complains of a legitimately negative thing she has to go through.

And shut up with this ‘oh it shows how privileged you are’ bullshit. I hate this from every single idiot complaining like this. You know how hypocritical that is? You’re on a stupidass website bitching because a woman dared say that she’s used to uncomfortable clothing. You’re spending your time whining about this while trying to say your life is so hard.
